USS STOCKDALE banner

Greetings from the Commanding Officer

Welcome to USS STOCKDALE’s Website! On behalf of our entire crew, we hope you enjoy your virtual tour of one of the United States Navy’s most advanced warships. We are honored to be the first ship named after Vice Admiral James B. Stockdale, a Medal of Honor recipient and one of the Navy’s great heroes and leadership icons. Our ship’s motto, “Return with Honor,” embodies the Admiral’s incredible service and sacrifice as the Navy’s senior Prisoner of War during the Vietnam War and reminds all who will sail on STOCKDALE of Admiral Stockdale’s leadership, courage and perseverance.

If you are a Sailor who has orders to STOCKDALE, congratulations! We are deeply proud to have you join our crew. We have placed a number of links on this web site to help you in your transition to our ship and look forward to welcoming you in person when you arrive. Regardless or whether you are a Sailor en route to our ship or merely interested in the ship named after one of the Navy’s great heroes, thank you for visiting and we wish you fair winds and following seas!
